Looking closer into the active ingredients

The ingredients in Mildly Medicated have been carefully selected to give our products properties and benefits over and above that of regular body powders and moisturisers. Our Mildly Medicated Powder contains two active ingredients – Allantoin and Zinc Oxide - that work together to help soothe and heal itchy and irritated skin and preventing it from drying out further.

Looking closer into the active ingredients.

Allantoin

Allantoin is a naturally soothing and non-irritating ingredient that has the ability to help heal the skin and stimulate the growth of healthy tissue.

It is renowned for the following skin benefits:

Zinc Oxide

Zinc is an essential natural occurring mineral contributing to our total physical and mental well-being. Zinc Oxide is an inorganic compound of Zinc.

Zinc Oxide is most often used in topical treatments and has been clinically proven to soothe skin irritation and itching by helping to reduce pain, swelling, and inflammation caused from a bacterial build-up. Won’t a “dry” powder dry my skin out further?

You might think ‘why should I put a dry product on my already dry skin? We know it’s against your instinct, but be reassured that the ingredients in our formulation work best in a powder form. The Mildly Medicated powder is specifically designed to prevent skin from drying out – so it has an ability to absorb excess moisture, yet aid the natural moisture retention at the same time, thanks to our active ingredient Allantoin.

What does Dermatologically tested and approved mean?

All Cuticura products are dermatologically tested and approved. To achieve this accreditation, our products are submitted to an independent testing house where they undertake a 96-hour patch test on a panel of adult men and women with self-assessed sensitive skin. The test is designed to investigate the skin irritation potential of a product. Once the test has been completed by the panel, all results are reviewed and validated by an independent dermatologist and are only approved when they are proven to be safe to use on your skin.
